Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, or EAP, incorporates horses experientially for emotional growth and learning. Individuals learn about themselves and others by participation in activities with horses, then discussing their thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, and patterns. The focus of EAP is not riding or horsemanship, but the individual’s mental health and self improvement. (Source: Eagala.org)
Kindred Equestrian collaborates with a local mental health professional in order to address mental health issues and client treatment goals for adults and children, ages 8 and above. After screening and acceptance by a Mental Health Professional, all treatment sessions are conducted by our EAGALA-trained treatment team. This team consists minimally of a Mental Health Counselor, Equine Specialist, and horse partner(s). Additional treatment team members may be incorporated as appropriate.
